Oh Emme!

So our darling 2nd child gives us more than we can handle sometimes. We love Emme and we are sure she is very gifted, but man does she have to be so messy?!? I think I have tried to block out all the BIG messes she has made and there have been a lot of them. She is very creative and can get to anything, even if it is hidden very well. So yesterday I was fixing dinner and Emmalee went to go play with Brigham while he was in his crib. They were just playing and having a fun time. I went to check on her and my mouth dropped open! There was Emme in the crib with no clothes on (she says clothes make her sweat too much!) and she was RED from her neck to her toes. She was absolutely covered in red paint, and I mean covered!!! She found a stray bottle of craft paint and took it upon herself to redecorate a bit. Considering how much she had on herself there was not that much in other places. It was on the wall, the crib, Brigham's bedding, BUT she didn't get any on Brigham (any ideas how to get paint out of bedding?)! When I first saw her I actually had to walk out of the room for a second to decide what I was going to do. I was mad, but knew someday this would be funny (today is still not that day). I wanted to take pictures to document this occasion, but I could only bring myself to take a picture with my phone. After some of my anger wore off I looked at her with my stern look and then she laughed. I have to admit I had to try to keep myself from laughing. She never ceases to amaze us with her creativity. I just hope someday it will pay off and she will be rich and famous and be able to support her kind parents who tried not to kill her when she was 3!

I think Emme and my Lydia would get along great. Maybe it's a second child thing. Good luck on the clean up!

It's totally a second child thing. My Lucas is very creative, and also gives me the hardest time in many areas. He is also the most cuddley and a total sweetheart. Good luck with the paint in the bedding. That is really funny to me...today!!

Hi Michelle - This is Jenny Oakeson (Smith). Your family is adorable. Can I just say be glad it's not poop. With my second child who is two, it was a poopy diaper she decorated with. No it's still not funny. For cleaning try oxi-clean. Glad to see you guys are doing good and please tell your family hello.

Our dear sweet Emmalee gives us lots of reasons to smile and hold our breath too. We need to figure out more "okay ways" for her to express herself creatively. I would have been laughing too if I had been there. Hugs!
